The Panthers Shall Not Cease!!
The Big Adventure (or as it is affectionately known, BA) is the brainchild
of Steve Schumacher Class of '69. A lot has happened since that first post
on Classmates.com.
Can you imagine an event in which we all once again meet with friends who
were so much a part of us that we could not imagine ever losing touch with
them? But then, somehow, we did. Do you remember...Sandy's, Burger Chef,
"The Wall", the Tear Gas Bomb, double sessions, John F. Long homes, Panther
Tracks, Friday night football games? Do you remember Maryvale High when it
was new and squeaky clean? And so were our hopes and dreams. Some of us do
remember Maryvale that way and some of us know it the way it is now, a
beautifully remodeled modern high school, still home to young people with
those same hopes and dreams.
We want all of us to come together for a weekend's event that will make
history: 38 years of Maryvale High School students together again to share
memories and participate (or just watch) in one great show! Not the "Class
of..." but the "School of..."!
Find old and dear friends, visit your past, be fourteen again. We have a lot
of work to do, a lot of committees to join and a lot of celebrating to do.
Best of all the proceeds of this Big Adventure will be given back to the
Maryvale community, a thank you from all of us Panthers to the neighborhood
that shaped us and helped make us what we all are today.
Intrigued? Come join us. You cannot even imagine how much fun we are having
already. Reconnecting with old friends and making new ones!
